In an impoverished Germany by the war, with a Versailles convention which imposed very tough conditions as war damage and with a severe economic crisis, it was not a hard thing for Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist German Workers Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei - NSDAP) to acquire the power. Hitler best intuited the power of propaganda and fully exploited the technology and means of communications available in those times. By taking control of the main means of communication, throughout his totalitarian regime, the German people lived in a reality distortion field.

Time past by, the technology evolved, people don’t and also forgot. In the year 2008, means of information have diversified, information travels fast and owning real information became the most important weapon. The whole world is involved in a very expensive war against a more or less invisible enemy: terrorism. USA assumed the role of the leading warrior against this enemy, by any means. At the same time, a new economic crisis hits the entire world and mainly USA. The situation is similar with the 30’s and this time the Internet is the main mean of communication.

Barack Obama is heavily exploiting the power of the internet using the most popular, the main search engine, Google. Google CEO Eric Schmidt supported Obama during his election campaign and even if he claims that this is a personal option, when you are named Eric Schmidt and you have such a position, your personal options remain within the walls of your own bedroom.

Google knows best the users’ options, their needs, this is why it launches services and products that meet our needs. Most of the time, the products/services Google offer are so great, you don’t even have to search for an alternative. The reason for which they perfectly satisfy your needs is that they created those needs.

That being said, couldn’t we assume that the Google support did not only consist of a $487,355 donation? It may sound like a conspiracy theory, but I consider it to be just free imagination. We are not saying that the support Google offered Obama was a bad thing. We’re not saying it was a good thing either. It’s just free imagination.

As we all know, after Hitler took control, everyone in Germany got radio receivers that gave them access to information according to the Fuhrer’s instructions. No information was published without the consent of the propaganda staff. Nowadays, the means of communications are not reduced to a simple radio receiver. We have countless sources of information, but it’s clear that the internet is the most important one. And as the internet becomes more and more synonymous with Google, the same Google which helped Obama win the elections, is it possible for Obama to control the mean that got him victory in the elections? Because, in the same way it helped him, it can easily destroy him and in this case Obama has only 2 solutions: to control or to destroy Google.
